2. About the project
A few years ago, Beatmap developed this website to showcase and combine some of the skills we had developed. At the time, we hadn’t seen many examples of sites that used 3D with video and people filmed in chroma key.
Beatmap and New York based creative director Juan Gallardo designed an online interactive experience to sell a glucometer. At the time we had learned that recording artist Nick Jonas was using one of Bayer’s glucometers. The idea was to allow the web user to enter Nick Jonas “crib” and look around.
For this demo, we focused only in the dining and living room areas of the condo. In this area the user can move around and find objects like the glucometer, an iPod, a drumset (that can be played) and some left over pizza. To add realism to the experience, all objects were created in photorealistic 3D and we added a character in chroma key to welcome the user at the door.
